Marbella Club is now Butterfly Mark certified, earning one of the highest scores in the industry, due to its unwavering commitment to sustainability, ethical practices and genuine efforts for positive social and environmental impact.
Key initiatives include supporting seahorse conservation alongside Aula del Mar, transitioning to 100% renewable energy, and reducing its carbon footprint by 62%. The hotel has also implemented waste reduction policies that have led to a 36% decrease in waste.
These efforts are part of an ongoing three-year journey, led by Director of Sustainability, Leigh Barrett, who has developed a strategic framework for change, grounded in international agreements, global standards, and anticipated legislation.
