Opened in June 2021, El Patio restaurant is the latest addition to the Marbella Club Hotel and its newly unveiled Clubhouse – a vibrant social hub that pays homage to its opening in the 1950s.
Set amongst verdant gardens, El Patio is a traditional Andalusian indoor and al-fresco setting embodying the hotel’s inimitable welcoming spirit. The central courtyard is a hidden oasis where guests can enjoy a morning coffee, smoothie, leisurely lunch and cocktail or a shared evening meal from the open outdoor kitchen, with live soulful Mediterranean tunes playing in the background.
Overseen by Calabrian-born head chef Armando Codispoti with support from former Ottolenghi and Soho House Istanbul chef, Esra Muslu, El Patio delivers hearty seasonal dishes, with Andalusian produce sourced from trusted local suppliers. Dishes include toasted granola with poached peaches and smashed avocado with organic poached eggs and Aleppo chilli for breakfast, watermelon with lime and chilli jam, seasonal salads or fired-oven pizzas for lunch, sage-infused cocktails for relaxed afternoons and chargrilled wild sea bass carpaccio or wood roasted organic chicken with hay-flamed caramelised onions and burnt Basque cheesecake for dinner.
The bespoke drinks menu curated by Marc Álvarez and supervised by resort mixologist Nelson Gallo offers concoctions which incorporate citrusy herbs, seasonal fruit and home-made cordials.
Indoors there is a circular bar and a botanical themed conservatory-style salon. Unique touches include a locally handcrafted fireplace, large painted murals and framed historical images of memorable personalities enjoying dress-up parties, Beach Club revelry and late night flamenco feasts at the hotel.
Launched in spring, the Clubhouse features a series of convivial, free-flowing indoor and outdoor spaces around a central patio, including:
- The Grill – serving heart-warming time-tested recipes indoors and on the outdoor terrace
- Rudi’s – a timeless bohemian lounge for champagne and cocktails, tapas and games of backgammon
- Summer Bar – for al fresco cocktails
- La Bodega – an expansive wine cellar hosting wine tastings
- Dedicated private dining room
There is also a hair spa, beauty salon and barber, as well as several flexible spaces, which will host art exhibitions and pop-up collaborations throughout the year.
